Bantu Mzwakali Has Signed A New Contract With Ajax Cape Town

Bantu Mzwakali
Highly-rated Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Bantu Mzwakali, has signed a new long-term contract at the club, potentially warning off interest from the Soweto giants. Read: Ajax/Stars Remain Winless Mzwakali was on the scoresheet for the Urban Warriors last night as they picked up a draw against Free State Stars, bringing to an end a losing streak that spanned five games and dated back to September. The 22-year-old has been a regular name in the media over the past couple of transfer windows, with both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates known to be interested in trying to lure him to their respective clubs. Chiefs even went as far as making a R2m bid for the talented midfield man back in August, however, their advances were rebuffed by the Urban Warriors as they looked to keep hold of one of their star performers. Now, with Ajax languishing at the foot of the Absa Premiership after 10 games, the Siya crew can confirm that Mzwakali has committed to the club until at least 2018. Mike Makaab Jnr, of Prosport International, confirmed to the crew that the player has put pen to paper on a new improved contract at Ikamva that will run until the end of the 2017/18 season, and also includes a two-year option on top of that. While the interest in Mzwakali is unlikely to die down given his substantial talents, Ajax will be delighted with the fact that there is now no chance of him leaving on a free anytime soon.
