The 39-year-old and his brother were detained in Paraguay after being found in possession of fake passports, spending just over a month behind bars before being released into house arrest.

It has since been claimed Ronaldinho and his brother were duped into this scandal, sentiments echoed in his first interview at the beginning of the ordeal.

"We were absolutely shocked when we realised that the documents we used were not legal," he told Paraguayan newspaper ABC Color.

"From that point on, our intention was to try and co-operate with the local police to clarify the facts.

"I never imagined I would need to go through something like this. It was really tough.

"I arrived into Paraguay for the launch of an online casino and of a book. All we tried to do was to honour the contracts my brother comes up with."

Ronaldinho did accept there is still some way to go before he is a free man.

"I am a man of faith. I pray for things to go the right way and hopefully this will all come to an end soon," he added.

"All my life I've tried to reach the highest professional level and to bring joy to all the people with my playing style. That's all I care about."

Big New Development In Ronaldinho Case

Ronaldinho is currently under house arrest in a four-star hotel in the capital city of Paraguay, and will be until the investigation is over, which could be months from now.
