Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo, believes head coach, Eric Tinkler, knows how to get the best out of the current crop of players.
Tinkler took over the helm of the Buccaneers ship in December last year following a poor run of form that culminated in the resignation of former coach Vladimir Vermezovic.
The 45-year-old has managed to turn Pirates' fortunes around and has the team playing a different brand of football, with players able to express more of their talent and flair than under Vermezovic.
Mhlongo thinks that the turn in fortunes have been down to the coach being able to co-operate with the players and understand what each player and the collective need to thrive.
“Eric is a fantastic coach… not forgetting his technical team. They have been fantastic to us and they give the players freedom to express themselves in a manner that reflects the collective effort and discipline,” Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.
“He knows how to co-operate with us and work with the players. So far, I think he has been doing well as head coach of the team,” he added.
Do you think that Tinkler is the right man for Bucs? Is he getting the best out of the current squad?
