Bongani Zungu’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, has confirmed that there has been overseas interest in the player, but that they must respect Mamelodi Sundowns’ decision.
Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit, Vitória de Guimarães, are believed to have made an offer of around R6 million for the talented 22-year-old, however the transfer window closed with the Bafana Bafana international remaining at Chloorkop.
Speaking to the Siya crew in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Kapeluschnik explained that any overseas interest in the player is forwarded onto the Brazilians’ management.
He said, “He’s got a contract with Sundowns until the end of the season. There has been overseas interest and when we get overseas interest we submit it to the club.
“Bongani is 100 percent committed to the club, his teammates and the coach, and you can see that when he plays. As long as he is contracted to the club, we will honour that.
“The club makes their decision how to deal with it and we must respect that.”
Zungu was sent off as Sundowns lost 2-1 to Golden Arrows this weekend.
