The Serie A side already sacked Franck De Boer this season after a poor start to the campaign despite spending around €130 million (R2 billion) on new players ahead of the season.
However, Corriere dello Sport claim the Italian club will continue their squad overhaul and are targeting four United stars.
Memphis Depay, who has only played 126 minutes in all competitions under Mourinho this season, seems high on the Inter's wish-list. However, Everton are also interested in the Dutchman, who netted a brace for Netherlands during the international break.
Daley Blind and Chris Smalling are two other names that have been linked with Inter. Smalling is allegedly on Mourinho's axe-list after the manager appeared to hit out at him for lacking toughness, following Smalling's withdrawal from the squad ahead of the last game against Swansea.
Blind has had a good season but the all-rounder is yet to make a specific position his own and Mourinho himself claimed ahead of the season that he preferes specialists per position.
Right-back Matteo Darmian is the fourth name on Corriere dello Sport's list after only appearing twice for United in the absence of Antonio Valencia.
