Kaizer Chiefs' title hopes suffered another setback after they played out a 2-2 draw with SuperSport United at the Mbombela Stadium.
SuperSport nearly broke the deadlock after after seven minutes but Tsepo Masilela did well to clear Clayton Daniels' effort off the line.
However, Chiefs broke the deadlock in the 14th minute as Siphiwe Tshabalala found the back of the net with a fine lob from 20-yards out.
The visitors nearly doubled their lead in the 20th minute when Tshabalala teed up Joseph Molangoane, who failed to beat Reyaad Pieterse from close range.
However, SuperSport leveled matters in the 22nd minutes as Mandla Masango curled the ball beyond Bruce Bvuma, after some good work by Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Chiefs restored their lead in the 35th minute as Ramahlwe Mphahlele combined with Molangoane before teeing up Tshabalala, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner.
There was a good tempo to the encounter, but the score remained 2-1 to the visitors as the sides entered the halftime break.
Steve Komphela opted for a change in the 57th minute with Tshabalala making way for Gustavo Paez.
William Twala was also introduced and he nearly added a third goal for Chiefs in the 67th minute but he could only fire into the side-netting from close range.
SuperSport introduced Thabo Mnyamane and Teboho Mokoena in the second half as they pushed for a way back into the encounter.
Paez looked lively in the second half and he carved out a big chance for Joseph Molangoane in the 77th minute, but the midfielder dragged his effort wide with only Pieterse to beat.
Bvuma came to Chiefs' rescue in the closing stages as he produced a match-winning save to deny Thuso Phala in a one-on-one situation.
However, SuperSport were not to be denied in the 90th minute when Aubrey Modiba fired home via a deflection off Masilela as both sides earned a share of the spoils.
