It has been claimed that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is willing to leave the club to join Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona, who are reportedly looking for a new centre-forward.
According to Jose Alvarez of El Chiringuito TV, the Argentina international is entertaining the idea of swapping the Citizens for Barcelona.
Alvarez is believed to be a close friend of Aguero's, and is under the impression the 32-year-old could be heading for an exit from the Premier League giants ahead of the expiry of his contract in 2021.
The Blaugrana sold Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid in the most recent window, which has reportedly left Ronald Koeman in search of a striker to fill that role.
So far this season, the Catalan giants have used struggling France international Antoine Griezmann as the main centre-forward, as well as Messi, but in a slightly deeper role.
The LaLiga side has been linked with Olympique Lyon forward Memphis Depay, who is not considered a natural No. 9, so Aguero's interest in joining might be welcomed, especially considering he will be a free agent at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Aguero has scored 255 goals in 373 matches for City since his arrival in Manchester in 2011, and found the back of the net on 100 occasions for Atletico Madrid prior to his move to the Premier League.
