Serie A Wrap 01 August 2020

Inter Milan finished their Serie A campaign in style after getting the better of Atalanta 2-0 in Bergamo on Saturday evening.

'The Nerazzurri derby' got off lively after Danilo D'ambrosio put Inter ahead in the opening minute before Ashley Young doubled his side's advantage ten minutes later.

Inter have confirmed second place, a point off the champions Juventus with Atalanta securing a successive third-place finish following last season's heroics.

Napoli completed their topsy-turvy campaign with a 3-1 victory over Lazio in a top-half encounter out at the Stadio San Paolo.

Ciro Immobile picked up his 36th strike of the season at the midway stage after cancelling out Fabian Ruiz's ninth minute finish.

A penalty from Lorenzo Insigne earlier in the second half complemented by Matteo Politano's last minute strike ensured the points stay in Naples.

AC Milan' campaign also ended on a high after bringing Cagliari down to earth following a 3-0 victory to all but confirm sixth spot.

An own-goal from Ragnar Klavan gave Milan a dream start in the first ten minutes before Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had missed a penalty, and Samu Castillejo provided the further damage early in the second half.

Relegated Brescia finished their top-flight campaign with a 1-1 draw against mid-table Sampdoria who finished the game with ten players.

Samp took the lead late in the first half courtesy of Mehdi Leris' strike, but Brescia responded just after halftime through Ernesto Torregrossa's penalty.

Claudio Ranieri's side finished the game with ten players with Kristoffer Askildsen was given his marching orders following a second booking having entered as a second half change.
