Orlando Pirates expect to have Happy Jele and Dove Wome back in the team for their Nedbank Cup final against SuperSport United on June 24.
The two players missed Bucs’ last league game of the season, which was against Golden Arrows on Saturday. The two players were both on three yellow cards each and in fear of not wanting to lose them for the final, Bucs coach, Kjell Jonevret, decided to exclude the duo from last weekend’s 18-man match day squad.
Their absence provided an opportunity for the likes of Yusuf Maart and Ayanda Nkosi to get a run in Jonevret’s team. The Buccaneers lost 2-1 against Abafana Bes’thende and finished a disappointing season in 11th place on the Absa Premiership log, ending the campaign outside the top eight for the first time in the PSL era.
The other Pirates players on three yellow cards are James Okwuosa and Thembinkosi Lorch.
However, Lorch is currently injured while Okwuosa had a disappointing first few months with the club, due to lack of game time.
