Kaizer Chiefs will be aiming to boost morale ahead of the Soweto Derby when they host Cape Town Spurs behind closed doors.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Cape Town Spurs

Date: 08 November 2023

Venue: FNB Stadium

Time: 19h30

Chiefs were banned from having supporters in the stadium for their home game against Spurs as part of their punishment for spectator misbehaviour following their loss against AmaZulu at the same stadium in the Carling Knockout.

Amakhosi's woes continued despite having interim coach Johnson on the bench for the first time after a 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows in the league almost two weeks ago.

The Glamour Boys, as a result, lost their fifth game in their last six matches in all competitions and slipped down to 12th on the log with 11 points.

Spurs, on the other hand, won their first game of the season in their ninth league attempt after edging Orlando Pirates 2-1 a week ago.

The Urban Warriors are still placed at the bottom of the log with three points after they had lost eight straight league matches prior to beating Pirates.

The last time the sides clashed was in the 2017/18 season, where Amakhosi completed a league double over the Cape Town side, with a 1-0 win at home and 2-1 victory away.

Here's how they line up:

Kaizer Chiefs: 32. Khune, 2. Dove, 24. Ditlhokwe, 25. Msimango, 39. Frosler, 8. Maart, 17. Castillo, 12. Nk. Ngcobo, 42. Shabalala, 10. Dolly, 7. Chivaviro
