Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly earns a staggering €18.2 million before taxes – excluding additional bonuses, endorsements and sponsorship deals – but how much is this compared to the average person?
TalkSPORT came up with a clever video comparing Ronaldo’s annual salary to the rest of the world.
The Portuguese earns an average Great Britain annual (yearly) salary of £26 100 pound in just 12 hours. In fact, it would take the average Englishman over 700 years to earn Ronaldo’s annual salary.
His current salary is equivalent to the cost of 196 226 of his own Real Madrid replica shirts, which are sold for each the price of €92,75.
From his annual salary, he could buy 1 070 588 pairs of his own underwear, which are priced at €17.
If his salary were a population, it would be the 60th largest country in the world, nearly twice as big as his native country Portugal, which has roughly 10 610 304 inhabitants.
The only athlete on the planet who earns more is boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
On this salary, each of his 291 competitive goals for Real Madrid is worth €62 542.
To put in a local perspective, Ronaldo could buy 67 407 407 Soccer Laduma issues, at a price of R3.50, from just one year of his salary.
