Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town will go head-to-head for the first time at the Cape Town Stadium tomorrow at 20h00, with chairman John Comitis' new Mother City side being the home team in the encounter.
Comitis and Efstathiou used to run the Ajax Cape Town franchise together and while their friendship extended off the football pitch, as family they were involved in business outside of football.
Efstathiou and Comitis parted ways back in 2013, when Efstathiou bought George and John out of the club, after a fall out between the families.
Comitis recently purchased the Mpumalanga Black Aces franchise and relocated it to the Mother City, creating a new brand under the name Cape Town City.

Now, the two sides will go head-to-head for the first time in the PSL, as they prepare to deliver an exciting derby for the Mother City fans.
"It's important for Cape Town that we can create a derby and make it an annual event that all the Capetonians can participate in. I am very confident that the game will be very exciting," Comitis said.
"I feel nothing about facing my old team to be honest. I am so committed to the Cape Town City brand, I am so committed to the players who've stepped up here and taken the challenge and I am committed to the public who've embraced us. I know I am doing the right thing for football and Cape Town," he concluded.
