Mamelodi Sundowns have done their preparations for their CAF Champions League match in Rwanda.

The Chloorkop outfit left straight after their league game against AmaZulu on Friday to travel to Rwanda for preparations for their continental match.

Sundowns goalkeeper, Denis Onyango, believes that leaving for Rwanda as early as they did will help the team.

"It was early for us to come here but it's good for the players to focus on the game, and also acclimatize to the weather. Since it's summer in South Africa, here (Rwanda) it's been raining almost every day," said Onyango.

"I think it was good for us to come early and rest and have peace of mind, stay away from distractions and focus on the game. I think it was a good idea from the team, and also from the technical bench," added the goalkeeper.

While in Rwanda, The Brazilians have been provided with an astroturf facility in preparation for the game.

"It's not the same (as the grass), but we've got no choice. We are in a country where they don't have a lot of grass pitches. The astroturf is not that bad. It's one of the new ones. They used it in CHAN tournament. It looks better, and I think today we'll have a chance to go to the main stadium, which is grass and it's proper and good for football. We've seen this before and we won't complain about the pitch. We'll only focus on the game and getting the results," added the 32-year-old.

The shot-stopper says he and his teammates are prepared for what should be a tough match against tough opponents in Rayon Sports.

"It's a very good team and a big team. We like playing games where there is a lot of crowds. It boosts us and pushes us. It's a country where they love football. We'll adjust to our thing and we'll try and get the positive results from here so that we don't get too much hassle in the return leg in Pretoria. We are not focusing on the other stuff around the team because we are also a big team. So, two big teams meeting on the pitch, we will look to use our experience in the Champions League to qualify for the group stages," concluded the Ugandan.
