Kaizer Chiefs had been grooming Doctor Khumalo since 2004, but last season they decided to go for a former Maritzburg coach the end of last season to replace the club legend, a man who's been at Chiefs for more than 20 years. If there is a culture and a "Chiefs way", no one know it better than Doc16v.
The same happen with Teboho Moloi at Pirates. Moloi had been with the club as a player for a decade. He worked with several managers. But in the second half of last season he was given a special leave and never come back.
Guardiola, Zidane and Enrique were groomed to manage Barca and Real Madrid, and, currently, Pep is the one of the best club managers in the world. Zidane is a UCL gold winner and he won it in his first five months as a senior team manager, Enrique is a treble winner and La Liga's defending champion.
Why must our own legends not be afforded the same privileges? Experience is not for sale and it doesn't guarantee any success. If given a chance and the full trust of the management, Teboho, Doctor, Tovey, Shaun and Benni could be our own Pep by now.
With Pirates looking for a coach, should Khoza consider Benni or Moloi for Coaching position?
