Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral tendered his resignation following the team's embarrassing 6-1 defeat at the hands of SuperSport United. This came as a shock to the Buccaneers faithful and management. Supporters Club spoke to Phillip Jwarha, an Orlando Pirates die-hard, about these new developments in the Sea Robbers' camp.
"Well, I think coach Muhsin left us very soon, and we are still shocked at the manner in which his departure happened," he said.
"We know that we cannot turn back the clock. It was the third time in the history of the team that we lost by such a margin.
"We don't know if the player power was taking place or not because Muhsin nearly exchanged blows with Edwin Gyimah after our game in Cape Town.
"We are not sure if that played a part in the poor results. Remember, such things spread quickly in the team and can result in the players deciding not to play for the coach anymore. I'm not saying that's what happened, but the manner in which all this has unfolded leaves much to be desired.
"Maybe he saw that it will only get worse. Remember, once the players let you down as a coach, then there's nothing you can do.
"Augusto Palacious takes over and he will have our full support. We trust that he will take us to the final of Telkom Knockout."
Do you think Pirates' players let Muhsin down?
