Maritzburg United are still in search of their first three points to try and move away from the foot of the standings, though Ernst Middendorp is confident of the team's progress.
Middendorp recently took over the reins from former head coach Eric Tinkler, where the German mentor has the tough task of turning the Team of Choice's form around completely as they sit at the very bottom of the log with just one point.
However, the KwaZulu-Natal based-side suffered their sixth loss of the season to Swallows FC on Tuesday evening in the DStv Premiership with Middendorp disappointed with all the missed chances that could have seen them victors on the night.
"It is a very disappointing result, considering the first 30-35 minutes we should have been up, clear chances and clear opportunities," Middendorp told the media after the game.
"We continued in our progress over the last two games, but as I said, we came totally out of the run with the 0-1 that we conceded and the second goal was similar and naive."
Maritzburg will come up against Stellenbosch FC on Friday evening, with the Western Cape outfit also going into the encounter off the back of a loss.
"There is only a few days, we have to look into it, to see what is possible and what is available. Some players have not been available for different reasons, hopefully, one or two will come back into it and we have to see how we are sorting it and how we are looking to organise ourselves a little bit differently," he said.
