Controversial striker Mario Balotelli reportedly shocked his former Liverpool teammates when he did something bizarre during a training session.
The forward's Merseyside career did not work out, and he recently joined French club Nice after manager Jurgen Klopp made it clear the Italian was not in his plans for Liverpool.
Balotelli spent last season on loan at AC Milan after a poor 2014/15 campaign with the Reds, during which he scored just four goals in 28 matches under the club's previous head coach Brendan Rodgers.
While many fans were optimistic the striker would succeed at Liverpool when he joined in August 2014, a report in the Daily Mail suggests that his time with the Reds was perhaps doomed from the start.
The English publication claimed that, in Balotelli's first training session with the club, he refused to mark an opponent while defending a corner, as per Rodgers' instructions.
He reportedly told the former Liverpool boss that he will not go back to help defend corners as he is a striker, leaving his colleagues and the club's staff members stunned at his behaviour.
Balotelli caused more concerns throughout his time at the club, and has been criticised by many Liverpool legends since.
Having signed for Nice in the latest transfer window, the player will be hoping to revive his career in France's Ligue 1.
