Roggert Nyundu Pours His Heart Out After Leaving Black Leopards

Roggert Nyundu has poured his heart out about his disappointment after the termination of his contract at Black Leopards.

Nyundu, 32, has been released from Leopards just one month after he re-joined the club, and speaking to the Siya crew, the striker has lashed out at the Limpopo outfit for their decision.

"Stories have been created about me and I have been told that I am not scoring goals. I asked them how many goals have been scored by the other players and I couldn't get the answer. I asked them who passed me the ball to create goalscoring opportunities? I have been scoring in friendly games and I was doing fine," said Nyundu.

"(Mr David) Thidiela told me that I am not ready and suggested that I should go somewhere so that I could come back a better player. I told him, 'Sir, I am not a young boy and I don't understand what you mean by saying that I am not ready.' I was told that (to go somewhere) because the club wanted me to sign their termination letter," he said.

The former AmaZulu player says he signed a one-year with an option to extend for another year when he joined Lidoda Duvha last month.

"I have agreed to terminate the contract with the club because I don't want any noise. I'm sorry to say, they are running the club like a Vodacom (ABC Motsepe League) team. I negotiated for R100 000 settlement, because I didn't want to fight them as I could see that it was going to be a long process, but do you know how much I got? They rejected my offer (R100 000) and I asked for R50 000 at least, but I got R37 000. Only God knows what's next for Nyundu and what's going to happen with the team (Leopards). They treated me like I am some youngster,"

Leopards have one goal (own goal by Baroka defender Phelelani Shozi) from three matches in the 2020/21 season, with Nyundu having started two of those matches before he was deemed surplus to requirements.

Attempts have been made to get a comment from Leopards but the club's spokesperson Berry Ramunenyiwa was yet to issue a response on Nyundu's utterances at the time of publishing.
