Manchester City owner, Sheikh Mansour, is reportedly keen on renewing his interest in Bayern Munich boss, Pep Gaurdiola, as his patience with Manuel Pellegrini is wearing thin.
It’s understood that Pellegrini will be given some time to turn around the Blues poor run of results, but the Mansour won’t wait forever and will allegedly try a second time to tempt Guardiola to the Etihad if they feel the Chilean’s time has run its course.
While Pellegrini has won the Premier League and the League Cup in his first season at the club, he failed to go far in the Champions League. This season, City's European campaign could already be finished after the group stages and the bosses feel that's unacceptable with the amount of money pumped into the club.
City dealmakers, Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, know the Spaniard well from their time together at Barcelona and the pair believe Guardiola could be the man to deliver the Champions League trophy which the club so desperately wants.
“Txiki and Ferran have a real relationship with Pep,” a City insider told reporters, as quoted by the The Mirror.
“There is a belief one day Pep will arrive at City.
“Given he’s under contract at Bayern people wonder if he is attainable, but let’s see what might happen next summer.”
Guardiola has won the Champions League in 2009 and 2011 with Barca as well as domestic titles in Spain and Germany.
