Following Bafana Bafana’s humiliating 3-1 loss to Mauritania on Saturday, coach Shakes Mashaba has admitted of the pressure mounting on the side ahead of tomorrow’s friendly international tie.
The South African side will play their Senegalese counterparts in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge at Orlando Stadium and will look to redeem themselves and equally defend the trophy they won last year.
Mashaba said that he knows that people expect a win and that puts everyone in the team under pressure.
He however added that that pressure should not make the team commit mistakes.
"What you are saying is true. There is that pressure that we have to win but we don't have to force matters in winning because that will cause mistakes and we will end up losing again.
“You know everyone in the country wants the team to win and as a team we also want the same. If you look at the messages that I have received from South Africans then you can see that we have support and we have to be thankful to them by doing well in forthcoming games," Mashaba said.
Meanwhile, the defensive duo of Erick Mathoho and Rivaldo Coetzee will both miss tomorrow’s clash owing to respective injuries. Ayanda Patosi will also not feature after being released from camp owing to a family commitment.
The tie will commence at 19:00.
