Bafana: Jali Omitted, Three Weeks Out
South African midfielder, Andile Jali, has been left out of the Bafana Bafana squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers after sustaining an injury.
Shakes Mashaba named his side for the WCQ against Burkina Faso on 8 October, and the friendly with Ghana three days later, with Jali being one of the biggest names to miss out on a spot.
Jali is having a rough time in Belgium at present after heavy speculation that he would be on his way to a new club passed by without anything materialising, and he has now not played for KV Oostende for over four months.
When questioned about Jali’s exclusion, Shakes Mashaba confirmed to the media that the 26-year-old faces three weeks on the sidelines as he recovers from an injury that he recently picked up.
The good news, however, is that Jali should be fit again to take on Senegal when Bafana play their second qualifer in November, if his recovery goes as planned.
