What s Worse: A Brandao Head-Butt Or A Suarez Bite?

Hey guys, it seems like you are enjoying our debates. Today I am keen to hear your views on an incident which happened in France this weekend.

We may not all follow French football, but this story has made the news. Bastia forward Brandao head-butted PSG's Thiago Motta after their weekend game.

The 34-year-old waited in the tunnel for his opponent to smash his forehead into the PSG midfielder and suspectedly broke his nose.

Motta had to be held back by his teammates to prevent him from trying to strangle Brandao. PSG president calls for a 'ban for life' for Brandao who intentionally hurt another player.

This got me thinking, is this incident not worse than Luis Suarez's bite, which happened 'in the heat of the moment' on the field?

I am not defending Suarez at all and believe he also deserved his ban, but as I said before, FIFA have set a dangerous precedent with their massive punishment for Suarez.

Brandao waited off the field after the final whistle and assumingly only had one intention – to hurt his opponent. This was premeditaed! How can this not be worse than an incident on the field, which didn't really hurt Chiellini?

In my opinion, Brandao's action deserves a much heavier ban than Luis Suarez's and I am keen to see how FIFA will react – even though I expect them to not react at all and leave it to the French Football Association.

What's your take on this debate?

Cheers,

David
