The CAF Champions League quarter-final draw took place on Tuesday in Cairo, with the Chloorkop-based side no doubt watching on with keen interest.
Downs made light work of their Group A opponents as they made it to the quarter-finals with ease. The Tshwane giants found themselves alongside reigning champions Al Ahly, however, Downs managed to beat the Egyptians in both home and away ties.
Strong Downs
Along the way, Downs scored 10 goals, conceded just two, while keeping five clean sheets as they ended of the group phase with 16 points out of a possible 18.
That being said, Downs will now shift their focus to Angolan side, Petro de Luanda. Judging by many reactions on social media, supporters urged the club not to take the Luanda side lightly.
