In what was worrying scenes from the Orlando Pirates tie against Baroka FC, Paseka Mako was rushed to hospital following a nasty collision. As expected, fans showcased their support in numbers as they wished the defender a speedy recovery.
What's the story?
As mentioned, Mako had to be rushed off the field in an ambulance after a nasty collision with goalkeeper Richard Ofori who was clearing the ball. While being assessed by medics, players on the field surrounded Mako and the medical staff, with some not being in the right state of mind to continue according to Bucs Co-coach Fadlu Davids.
Mako was said to have been in a bad condition and amid the anxiety, referee Masixole Bambiso called the game off at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Injury Update
After the match, Pirates provided an update on the injury sustained by Mako, as supporters took to the club's social media pages in wishing him a speedy recovery.
In describing the injury, the statement read, "The doctor has revealed that CT scan results have shown no signs of skull fracture or any brain haemorrhage however, the player has sustained fracture to the face and nose. He will remain in High Care and will be assessed by the neurosurgeon again this morning."
