With Ricardo Nascimento officially unveiled as new Royal AM player, we check out the online reception the Brazilian received after his move.

What's the story?

As mentioned, the centre-back recently left Sundowns and surfaced at Royal AM. The lanky defender spent a successful five year spell at Chloorkop, leaving as a four time league winner.

Nascimento also won numerous accolades including the highly coveted CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup trophy.

Making Way

It was later revealed that Nascimento left Chloorkop because he had to make way for fellow South American player, Erwin Saavedra, with PSL clubs only allowed to have a maximum of five international players.

Nascimento took to his Twitter handle recently where he cleared the air on the matter, mentioning that it was a request from the club. Thereafter, Nascimento spoke highly of his new move by saying that he is happy to join a 'new family'.

Another Important Shirt

The 35-year-old tweeted, "Thank you President @kwa_mammkhize for opening the doors of the club for me, for allowing me to wear another important shirt in South African football. I will do my best for Royal AM…."

That being said, fans took to Twitter as they discussed the news of Nascimento's move to Royal AM, receiving mixed reactions in the process.

Have your say…
