Kaizer Chiefs are preparing for the new season, and with a head coach and several new signings already confirmed, a member of the Amakhosi supporters club has shared his transfer wishlist.
The Soweto giants bolstered their squad ahead of the 2022/23 season with the likes of defender Zitha Kwinika and striker Ashley Du Preez.
Thulani Ngcobo, a prominent member of the Chiefs supporters club, feels they need to add a few more signings to mount a serious challenge for the league title and cup competitions.
"If we can get Victor Letsoalo from Royal AM, that boy is hungry and playing good football. Unfortunately, he was competing with a great striker Peter Shalulile for the Golden Boot; he managed to be number two. You can see that he is very good and wants to go forward," Ngcobo told the Siya crew.
"Another one is Bongani Zungu; if at least we can give him a three-year deal, I will be happy; we need an experienced player like him. He can gel well with the likes of Keegan Dolly and Khama Billiat. I also think Terrance Mashego of Cape Town City can add value. Pule Mmodi from Golden Arrows, if we can get that boy is also decent, I will be happy with him.
Ngcobo added; "In the goalkeeping department, Itumeleng Khune needs to come back, yes, Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Peterson are doing good, but in our defence, you need someone like Khune who will ensure the defenders are switched on, wake them up every time. With his experience, we can play very well.
"There is a boy Fagrie Lakay in Egypt (at) Pyramids FC, and Ethan Brooks from TS Galaxy, Phillip Ndlondlo from Marumo Gallants, and Thembinkosi Lorch at Orlando Pirates.
"If we can get these players or some of them to bolster the squad, I believe we can start challenging for trophies. But should be patient, maybe look at winning the MTN8 first and position two in Arthur Zwane's first season in charge. That would be good. From there on, we can talk about winning the league," concluded Ngcobo, who set the record for an individual who attended the most matches at a World Cup - 31 games.
