Mamelodi Sundowns prominent supporter, Robert "Mzekezeke" Nkosi, believes his club will get more coaches fired in the remainder of the season. In this Soccer Laduma Supporters Club mini interview, the balaclava-clad supporter explains why he believes coach Pitso Mosimane has found his winning formula and what makes him think more coaches could lose their jobs because of the Chloorkop-based club.
Soccer Laduma: Mzekezeke your team was enjoying a rich vein of form before the two-week break. What was your impression of the team's performance?
Robert Nkosi:It was about time we clicked and gelled as a team so that we could show our true potential. We obviously didn't start the season well and the coach was busy trying to find winning combinations. Now I can safely say we have found our winning momentum and it is now Mamelodi Sundowns' time! This is the time for our team to show what Sundowns is all about, where do they belong and what brand of football this team is all about? Whoever comes our way, will pay the price just like our next opponents in the Telkom knockout final. We will emerge as victors after the final whistle and bring the trophy to Chloorkop. Anyone can see that we are the better side and a more deserving team of the two.
SL: Mhhh…
RN:When you are hot, you are hot! No one can stand in our way and, trust me, if it wasn't for this break, more coaches would have been fired after playing Sundowns! If people think the recent coaching merry-go-round was crazy, they have no idea of what was going to happen if the break didn't happen. Some of the teams we hammered have parted ways with their coaches. Bloemfontein Celtic and Maritzburg United have already lost their coaches and there are a few of those we beat recently that are on the verge of losing their jobs. I'm not going to mention names but there are more coaches who are going to lose their jobs after playing Sundowns, trust me. Like I said, whoever comes our way, will pay the price.
SL: Are there any players who have surprised you so far?
RN: Not at all! Anyone playing for Sundowns is expected to deliver because we don't just sign anyone. We only sign quality players and even those who are on the bench would walk straight into the starting line-ups of most of the PSL teams. Everyone is capable of scoring and defending, which means we don't rely on individuals. I think our team is the most balanced in the league so far. We are on fire my man and I can tell you there are coaches who are going to run away before we even meet them, you watch out, ha, ha, ha. Sundowns will get more coaches fired, you mark my words.
SL: So you are convinced the TKO trophy belongs to Chloorkop and that you will beat Kaizer Chiefs?
RN:Mark my words! We need this trophy badly and our road to the final is proof to that. We didn't go to any penalty shoot-out on our way, as we gave others six goals and so. None of our games were tight or went to extra time, so we killed our opponents in 90 minutes and those ones from Phefeni better be ready because we don't want to go to extra time. The 16th of December is a public holiday, so we shouldn't keep people at the stadium for longer than 90 minutes.
SL: That's the spirit, thanks a lot Mzekezeke and all the best for the final and the remainder of the season.
RN:Thanks a lot man. I'd like to urge our supporters not to buy those fake tickets at the stadium. We must also not support the black market.
