Bafana Bafana head coach, Shakes Mashaba has openly discussed his decision to substitute Lehlohonolo Majoro before half time during the team's 3-1 win over Swaziland.
The Bafana mentor was clearly unhappy with the team's performance in the first half despite the results of the game. What possibly stood out was Mashaba's decision to discuss his tactics by blatantly revealing why he substituted Majoro so early into the game.
"It was not a question of me being happy or not, he never exerted himself, he let the other striker play alone in that area," said the Bafana coach.
"He never competed for high balls and his first touch was not good so we didn't want to leave him longer, we decided to give him a break and maybe with another game he will be much better," added Mashaba.
Judging by the reaction to Mashaba's comments, a lot of people seem to think he was having a go at one of his strikers.
Do you think Shakes was right about his utterances?
