Mamelodi Sundowns continued in their path of being the team to beat in local football after winning their fifth straight league title. We take a look at the reactions following their incredible feat.
What's the story?
As mentioned, Downs were recently crowned DStv Premiership champions earlier this week, as they claimed their fifth league title in succession.
In facing Cape Town City in a mid-week league tie, the Chloorkop needed just one point to be unreachable at the top of the pile. As the game ended in a 0-0 draw, players and coaches could not hide their joy at their latest triumph.
Thanking The Fans
That said, Downs fans have gotten used to seeing their team lift trophies in recent seasons, as co-coach Rulani Mokwena shared a heartfelt message to their adoring fan base after the win.
Speaking to SuperSport, Mokwena said, ""Firstly of course congratulations to Masandawana family, congratulations to the supporters and It's good to wrap up the title with them with us here, so I'm very happy for them."
As expected, social media exploded with reactions, particularly under the comments section of the Downs Twitter account.
