As Sundowns head into the business end of the football season, the Chlookop side will look to compete on all fronts. As two of the top trophies the club would like to win, Downs are riding high in the DStv Premiership and CAF Champions League.
High Spirits
The Brazilians recently beat Al Ahly in a CAFCL group stage encounter at the Cairo International Stadium, which sent the Downs fan base into a state of euphoria.
After the match, co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi mentioned that their win over the Egyptian giants came as a confidence booster, while also urging his troops not to get carried away.
Leading The Way
In the DStv Prem, Downs currently hold a 15 point lead over Royal AM in second spot, while also boasting a superior goal difference as they look on course to claim another league title.
That being said, Sundowns fans were full of praises after the CAFCL Team of the Week were announced. The club had three representatives who made the team, which included stars such as Lyle Lakay, Rushine De Reuck and Kennedy Mweene.
