Sundowns had a perfect start in the defence of their league title after beating Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs both by a 2-1 scoreline.
The Brazilians will be looking to redeem themselves in the tournament after they were knocked out by eventual winners Orlando Pirates 3-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals last season.
Sundowns will be without Rivaldo Coetzee due to suspension.
Swallows, on the other hand, picked up one point from their first two league games under new head coach Steve Komphela, formerly with Sundowns, after they drew 1-1 with Golden Arrows and narrowly lost 1-0 to Cape Town City.
The Birds were last in this tournament in 2021 when they were hammered 4-0 on aggregate by the Citizens in the semi-finals.
Sundowns beat Swallows 2-0 courtesy of goals from Neo Maema and Themba Zwane but were held to a goalless draw, in the two league meetings last season.
