Chiefs lost their third game in four matches after going down 2-0 against Chippa United two weeks ago, with first half goals from Bienvenu Eva Nga and Sinoxolo Kwayiba sinking the Glamour Boys.
Amakhosi have since dropped down to tenth on the table and need victory to get back into the top eight.
Richards Bay, on the other hand, ended their three-game losing streak in all competitions after edging Moroka Swallows 1-0 thanks to a late goal by Khuda Muyaba.
The Natal Rich Boyz are lying 15th on the table, nine points behind 14th-placed Swallows.
Chiefs won the first round encounter between the sides 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Nkosingiphile Ngcobo in December at FNB Stadium.
