The Orlando Pirates star, who scored two goals against Kaizer Chiefs in the previous Soweto Derby, is a doubt for this Saturday's match.
As the Buccaneers went on to beat Amakhosi 3-1 in their previous match, which was played back in March, Luvuyo Memela emerged as a hero after he scored two of the three goals for coach Milutin Sredojevic's side.

With Bucs preparing for the much-anticipated match against Chiefs, indications from the team's camp is that Memela is doubtful for this coming weekend's match.
Memela has been a notable absentee from Bucs' matches this season, with sources indicating that his progress has been delayed by injuries.
Memela has played only one match for Bucs so far this season – against Cape Town City on September 19.
"Luvuyo Memela has been struggling with an injury. He is unlikely to be available for the match on Saturday," a source told the Siya crew.
After the Cape Town City match over a month ago, Sredojevic confirmed that Memela was still not up to his best form.
"He is still not in top competitive form as we could see. However, we put him inside having in mind all his experience. He also took back the trust put in him with that killer pass for Figo … Linda Mntambo, unfortunately, it didn't work," the coach said, in part, at the time.

Some of the ardent Bucs fans have been keen to know if Memela would be available to play against Chiefs, with the player's breathtaking performance from the last Soweto Derby clearly still on their minds, however, it seems that the 31-year-old remains a doubt for a full return to competitive football for the side.
Memela finished last season as Bucs' top goalscorer with five goals.
The Buccaneers are expected to officially provide an update on injured players, as well as the players returning from injury, closer to the match day.
