Orlando Pirates Beat Orlando Pirates Again Yesterday

Orlando Pirates Beat Orlando Pirates Again Yesterday

Orlando Pirates matched a feat that was last achieved more than 20 years ago with their victory over Kaizer Chiefs, securing second place in the Absa Premiership.

Pirates' comeback from 1-0 down saw them become the first team to win the Soweto Derby having conceded the first goal since  way back in 1995 when they did the same thing against Chiefs, and saw them claim back-to-back victories over their bitter rivals for the first time since 2008/09.

Not only did the win send them five points clear of the Amakhosi, but it also meant that it is now almost four years since they lost a league game against them, and it's 10 matches since they were beaten in normal time by the Glamour Boys.

The Buccaneers have now managed to keep up the pace with log leaders, Bidvest Wits, and will be hoping to keep up their eight-game unbeaten run when they take on AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout next week.
