Kaizer Chiefs claimed their third Soweto derby victory in a row on Saturday afternoon, after a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium.

The win saw Amakhosi extend their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership standings from four points to seven, although Mamelodi Sundowns at second place are yet to get in to action.

Pirates however, remained at third position on the log; nine points away from the number one spot, having played one game extra.

The race for the Absa Premiership title is still on, with at least five teams within a chance to claim the glory at the end of the season.

However, as things stand, Chiefs have the advantage, although they have a tough fixture ahead of them, coming up both against teams at the top and teams at the bottom fighting for their lives.
