Mamelodi Sundowns' win over Black Leopards has added pressure to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates as the Absa Premiership title race heats up.
The Brazilians defeated Lidoda Duvha 3-0 on Wednesday evening to move up to 34 points, while also overtaking Bucs on the log standings to take up second place.

With the Buccaneers now in third place on the standings with 32 points, and Amakhosi in sixth place with 27 points, the race is on for the two giants of South African football to try and catch up with Downs, as well as leaders Bidvest Wits, who are on 37 points at the top of the standings.
"It's very important for Pirates to win games and to do so consistently. If you look at it, Sundowns is also coming and closing the gap (with Wits), so the pressure is on. Pirates have to pull up their socks and do well in all of their remaining games," former Pirates defender Tonic Chabalala told the Siya crew.

However, Chabalala says he has confidence in Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team and that they should be ready to plan for whatever Ernst Middendorp and his Chiefs technical team will be coming up with when their teams play at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
"We (Pirates) have a very strong technical team which I have confidence in. I mean, Fadlu (Davids), Micho and Rulani (Mokwena) are all capable. They are the guys who will play a big role in ensuring that we win the derby. I think they will be able to sit down and come up with plan and solutions on what needs to be done to do well in remaining games," added Chabalala.
