Kaizer Chiefs' Scoring Shot-Stopper Remembers...

Kaizer Chiefs' Scoring Shot-Stopper Remembers...

Back in the early Glamour Boys years, Joseph 'Banks' Setlhodi was doing his thing at both ends of the field, bagging penalties in three consecutive derbies in 1972.

As the latest clash between Chiefs and Orlando Pirates approaches, 'Banks' was asked to relive some of his moments - including the five goals that he scored in competition with Patson Banda.

Speaking to the club's official website ahead of Saturday's Soweto Derby, the 72-year-old said, "Because of the big competition with Patson, I took the penalties in a Derby to show him who was the best... It was to say, 'I am always one or two steps ahead of you'."

Meanwhile, he also says that Chiefs were dominant back in his day, adding, "Derbies can't be predicted... Well, at least these days. We would usually win when I was still part of it, minding the posts, and especially in the days that Kaizer Motaung himself would play – he used the mesmerise Pirates' defence."

Chiefs face Pirates at 15h30 on Saturday afternoon.
