Giovanni Solinas Believes Willard Katsande Is Vital For Kaizer Chiefs

Giovanni Solinas has heaped praise on one of his key midfielders, calling it 'an honour' to work with him, after he was earmarked by Orlando Pirates' Rulani Mokwena. Read: Bafana's Latest FIFA Ranking Revealed Pirates' assistant coach recently explained that Willard Katsande was of vital importance to the Glamour Boys going into this weekend's Soweto Derby, insisting that he was possibly their most crucial player for the clash. Speaking to the media earlier this week, Mokwena said, "Willard Katsande is always the focal point and an important part of the axis‚ and the foundation of the team. A very matured player. A very important player for them." Solinas agrees with his counterpart, too. The Italian believes that Katsande – a Chiefs veteran now – has been integral to their start to this season, praising the 32-year-old for his performances up until now. He said, "Katsande is a very important player for Kaizer Chiefs. He has played well, including the last game, he has good distribution, a good passing game, good ball recovery and intelligent movement. "He's a Zimbabwean national team player and plays for Kaizer Chiefs, one of the biggest clubs in the continent. He's very important. It's a privilege, an honour, to be Katsande's coach." Katsande is expected to start in the heart of Chiefs' midfield when they go up against the Buccaneers on Saturday at 15h30.
