Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Bongani Ndulula believes the log leaders could be under pressure going into this coming weekend's Soweto Derby.
The Buccaneers and Amakhosi will clash in the much-anticipated Absa Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates will go into the match still having not lost in the league under Josef Zinnbauer, with their only loss under the German coach being in the Nedbank Cup against Bidvest Wits a the beginning of the month, while Chiefs have had a disappointing run of late, after losing two matches in a row, against Maritzburg United and Highlands Park in league and cup respectively.
"(Predictions) for the game for Pirates and Chiefs? That's going to be a tough and tricky one. Chiefs have lost two games in a row and Pirates are on form at the moment. But I know that a derby is a different kind of a game and anything can happen on the day. A team can go to the derby performing and doing well, but the team that hasn't been enjoying form can win," said Ndulula.
Chiefs beat Pirates 3-2 in the first round game played at FNB Stadium in November, with Middenddorp's side having also eliminated their counterparts from the Telkom Knockout in the previous week at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium.
"I don't want to lie, I can't say which team is going to win, because it's going to be a difficult game. A team that takes its chances to score will win. But it's not going to be a draw and there will be a winner. All I can say right now is that Chiefs will go into the game a little under pressure as Pirates are on form," the striker added.
