On Tuesday morning Manchester United announced the sacking of manager Jose Mourinho after the Red Devils suffered an embarrassing defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

On Saturday, United travel away as they face Cardiff City in an attempt to get their feet back firmly on the ground.

Retired Zimbabwean footballer, Alois Ngwerume, gets in on the action that will be taking place this coming weekend. Do you agree with his predictions?

Arsenal v Burnley (English Premier League)

Match 1 Soccer 6 Pool 22 December S6 V1 P1

League Rankings:Arsenal 5th Burnley 18th

Useful facts:Arsenal are pushing for a spot among the log leaders and a win against Burnley will aid their cause a great deal. Having lost to Southampton in their last league encounter, Unai Emery's men will not want to put a foot wrong. The visitors could find it hard to contain them, as the Gunners have scored 37 goals in the league so far this season, the same number as log leaders Liverpool. Burnley lost to Tottenham Hotspur in their last league game and they will fight hard for a result, mindful of the fact that they are in a precarious position on the log. The last time the two teams met, which was in May this year, Arsenal thrashed Burnley 5-0.

Alois Ngwerume: Arsenal win

Barcelona v Celta Vigo (La Liga)

Match 4 Soccer 6 Pool 22 December S6 V1 P1

League Rankings: Barcelona 1st Celta Vigo 9th

Useful facts: Barcelona will know that a win here could see them opening a wider gap between them and the teams chasing top spot. They are up against a Celta Vigo side that has shown inconsistency this season, having won five, drawn six and lost five. They are also scoring (28) at the same rate as they are conceding (24). Against the lethal strike force of the Catalan giants, they may pay the price for any sloppy defending. The last time the two teams met, back in April, 2-2 was the scoreline at the final whistle, which goes to show how hard-fought this encounter may turn out to be.

Alois Ngwerume: Barcelona win

Cardiff City v Manchester United (English Premier League)

Match 5 Soccer 6 Pool 22 December S6 V1 P1

League Rankings: Cardiff 16th Manchester United 6th

Useful facts: It's pressure cooker time at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see how Manchester United pick themselves up after the 3-1 loss to Liverpool last weekend. Jose Mourinho is said to be on thin ice and losing to lowly placed Cardiff could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. However, if it's of any consolation to the Red Devils fans, Cardiff have only scored 11 goals in 17 league games and they will need to do much better in front of goal if they are to overcome the visitors. So poor have Man United been that a win won't see them moving up from sixth place.

Alois Ngwerume: Manchester United win
