Orlando Pirates go into their weekend encounter with high spirits, however, their opponents Mamelodi Sundowns managed to bounce back in their previous match against Free State Stars, winning 3-1. Whenever these two sides meet it is the grass that suffers as a fierce battle is always guaranteed and as well as goals. The supporters are up for a football feast as Milutin Sredojevic will be out to see his team remain first on the log standings.

Who will walk away with three points on Saturday at Loftus Versfeld? Retired South African footballer, Tshegofatso Mashego gives his prediction on this match and more!

Match of the Week

Mamelodi Sundowns v Orlando Pirates (Premier Soccer League)

Match 2 Soccer 6 Pool 9 November S6 V3 P1

League Rankings: Mamelodi Sundowns 6th Orlando Pirates 2nd

Useful facts:It's the biggest game of the weekend between two teams who hold nothing back on their day and bookmakers will surely have a tough time trying to predict the outcome of this one. That is even despite the fact that Mamelodi Sundowns are yet to hit their straps this season and were most recently knocked out of the Telkom Knockout by unfancied Baroka FC. What better way for Pitso Mosimane's charges to bounce back than with a win against an Orlando Pirates side so high on confidence and sitting second on the Absa Premiership table. The Soweto giants do not have that many fond memories playing against Downs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium of late and this is where they were put to the sword with a 6-0 annihilation in the 2016/17 season. Milutin Sredojevic will pin his hopes on some of his in-form stars like Thembinkosi Lorch, Vincent Pule and Xola Mlambo to help his side to victory, and the big motivation will surely be to unseat Bidvest Wits at the top of the standings. On the side of the Tshwane giants, expect Gaston Sirino to want to run the show, while all eyes will be on Andile Jali as he will most likely be in the starting line-up for the first time against his former club.

Kaizer Chiefs v Chippa United (Premier Soccer League)

Match 3 Soccer 6 Pool 9 November S6 V3 P1

League Rankings: Kaizer Chiefs 7th Chippa United 13th

Useful facts: This is one of the games that always produce fireworks and Chippa United, although lying in a lowly 13th position on the league table, will not make things easy for Kaizer Chiefs. The Soweto giants are riding the crest of the wave after recording a 1-0 win over SuperSport United to advance to the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout and will want to build some momentum before the re-match against their biggest rivals Orlando Pirates. The Chilli Boys will salivate at the prospect of slaying a giant, something they failed to do in their last league match against Mamelodi Sundowns, where they lost 1-0 at home. The last time the two teams met, the Eastern Cape-based side embarrassed Chiefs with a 3-0 thrashing just shortly after Steve Komphela's resignation as Chiefs coach. Giovanni Solinas will know that they are up against a team that always seeks to rise when playing the big guns.

Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)

Match 4 Soccer 6 Pool 9 November S6 V3 P1

League Rankings: Borussia Dortmund Bayern Munich

Useful facts: Bayern Munich have been off the boil of late in the league. There are swirling rumours that the players aren't happy with Niko Kovac as coach at Bayern and there is said to be tension in the dressing room. Bayern have experienced their worst start to a season since the 2010/11 season and perhaps this is the best time for Dortmund to be meeting the Bundesliga giants. Currently, in the third position, they will want to be sitting at the summit sooner rather than later and getting the better will aid that cause greatly. Only four points separate the two teams. Dortmund have scored an incredible 30 goals in 10 league matches and surely Bayern will be wary of that statistic, especially playing away. The home side will also be out to protect their unbeaten record this season. Yet the last time the two giants did battle, in March, Bayern walked away with a 6-0 victory.
