Maritzburg United host Kaizer Chiefs on Friday night, with three points on the line, as both PSL clubs aim to get their Absa Premiership season back on track. The Team of Choice have not recorded a win this season, while Amakhosi drew their previous match against Baroka FC earlier this week.

In continental football, Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Morocco in search of three points in the CAF Champions League. They face current champions and Group C leaders, Wydad Casablanca.

In England, Chelsea will take on a wounded Arsenal side who under the new manager, Unai Emery, failed to get their first three points for the new season last weekend against Manchester City.

Maritzburg United v Kaizer Chiefs (Premier Soccer League)

Match 2 Soccer 10 Pool 17 Aug S10 V1

League Rankings: Maritzburg 14th Chiefs 13th

Useful facts:Fresh from a clinical 3-0 thrashing of Free State Stars in the MTN8 quarterfinals last Saturday, the Glamour Boys aim for their first league victory of the season. Amakhosi head coach Giovanni Solinas made some changes ahead of their encounter against Ea Lla Koto and will hope his charges' performance will be carried over to their match against the winless Team of Choice. The KwaZulu-Natal team has not collected any points following two consecutive defeats in the league to date. The Soweto giants defeated Fadlu Davids' side 2-0 in their previous meeting last season.

Match of the Week

Wydad Casablanca v Mamelodi Sundowns (CAF Champions League)

Match 9  Soccer 10  Pool  17 Aug S10 V1

League Rankings: Wydad 15th (Botola) Sundowns 2nd (PSL)

Useful facts: Masandawana travel to Morocco, where they will face Wydad in their second-last Champions League group stages fixture at Stade Mohammed V on Friday evening. Following a convincing clinical 2-0 win against Golden Arrows in the MTN8 quarterfinals last weekend, the Brazilians will hope to carry the same form in this do-or-die Group C encounter. Having secured one victory in the group stages, against AS Togo-Port last month, Pitso Mosimane and his charges are aware that they will have to settle for nothing less than a win if they hope to progress to the next round of the tournament and avoid having to depend on favours going into the last fixture. The last time the South African side and the Moroccans clashed, in May 2018, they played to a 1-1 stalemate.

Chelsea v Arsenal (English Premier League)

Match 5 Soccer 6 Pool 18 Aug S6 V1 P1

League Rankings: Chelsea 2nd Arsenal 15th

Useful facts: The 2016/17 champions were off to a good start in the new EPL season following a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield in their opening game on Saturday. They will hope to continue to maintain consistency when they welcome wounded Arsenal on Saturday evening. Unai Emery, who was off to a less than joyous start as Gunners manager, will hope for better results when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face the Blues. In their previous clash, the visitors defeated the hosts 2-1 in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup in January 2018.

Thabo Senong: Chelsea
