Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has provided an update on the injury and fitness statuses of Keagan Dolly and Edmilson Dove.

Dolly and Dove have not featured for Chiefs so far this season, with their injuries going as far back as last season, where they could not complete the campaign.

However, unlike the Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dove had a pre-season with the team and played in a friendly against Young Africans but then broke down again.

Former Montpellier midfielder, Dolly was ruled out for the rest of the 2022/23 season with a knee injury in April and after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation, Ntseki has confirmed that the left-footed attacker is back training with the team.

"There are a few players still out due to injuries, we still have Keagan Dolly who has just started training with the team, we also have Dove who has just started (training) with the team," Ntseki told the media in a press conference.

"Hopefully in the next two weeks or after the FIFA week they will all be available for selection," he said.

Amakhosi lacked experience in their attack so far this season, especially after they parted ways with Khama Billiat and the imminent return of Dolly in particular will boost the confidence in their front line.

It was evident how the return of Ashley Du Preez, who is in his second season at the club lifted the team against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City but they missed Du Preez badly after he was ruled out with a flu infection against TS Galaxy, as almost all the attackers for that game were new players.

It remains to be seen if the MTN8 semi-final first-leg against Sundowns would come too soon for Dolly and Dove to feature, but they should be available for the second-leg, which will take place after the international break on 23 September. New striker Jasond Gonzalez could also be available for the MTN8 semi-final showdown.

The Glamour Boys will host AmaZulu in a league encounter on Saturday evening and then travel to Stellenbosch in midweek before welcoming Sundowns to FNB Stadium next weekend in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg.
