Self-relegation Causing Havoc In FIFA 20

Self-relegation Causing Havoc In FIFA 20

EA SPORTS will have some tinkering to do if they want to stop the trend of high level players relegating themselves on purpose in FIFA 20.

In a report on Eurogamer, it was revealed that the phenomenon of self-relegation has increased in FIFA 20, as even popular FIFA streamers and YouTubers have turned to this tactic in recent months.

This is all related to the Division Rivals mode in Ultimate Team, where the Weekend League attracts the most obsessed FIFA players and also offers lucrative rewards for your game time.

Using the Summer Heat objective, it was pointed out that playing within your correct level means that the grind for the reward can be tough.

However, this is where players are looking to bypass the difficult. They relegate themselves into a lower division, which in turn makes it easier to win consecutive matches as well as complete certain objectives that would be difficult when facing a similarly experienced opponent.

However, this creates a problem for the lower level, or more casual gamers, where their divisions become packed with higher level players that they would not be able to compete with.

There is also another irritation for players looking for games, as the easiest way for players to drop divisions is by looking for a match and then quitting early in the game. This results in a loss for the player who leaves, helping them drop to lower divisions.

There has been outcry from a number of social media players recently, requesting that EA finds a way to ban players who are causing havoc in the divisions, and it remains to be seen if this is an issue they will tackle in FIFA 21.
