Konami Announce That eFootball Master League Mode Won't Be Free

Konami have revealed the list of content additions to eFootball 2022, and despite being a free-to-play game it seems that some of the key modes and features will require players to pay for them.

The game, formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), was fully rebranded and Konami decided to go the free-to-play route.

After a disastrous launch, the game started to recover with the latest updates fixing some of the biggest problems.

However, one of the criticisms of the game from players was that it could feel a little bit more like a demo than a full game.

And it seems that if players want the full experience, it will eventually come at a cost, with the much-loved Master League mode only releasing next year, at a price.

Added to this, players will also get access to a number of new teams later this year, but it will also be in the form of paid content.

Thank you for playing eFootball 2022. We have received lots of feedback and questions on eFootball™ 2022 from our users, and in response, we would like to introduce some of the planned updates after version 1.1.0 onwards.

  • Lobby Match in which users can create rooms online and play matches between teams created in Dream Team is scheduled to be available after summer 2022 Free Content
  • Lobby Match in which users can create rooms online and play matches between teams created in Dream Team is scheduled to be available after summer 2022.
  • Some editing functions will be available in winter 2022
  • Cross-platform across consoles and PC will be available in winter 2022
  • The number of teams that can be used in leagues and club teams will be expanded and distributed as additional paid content by the end of 2022
  • Master League will be available as additional paid content during 2023
