FIFA 23 Deep Dive: FIFA Ultimate Teams

EA Sports has released another FIFA 23 deep dive trailer, this time we take a look at what's new for FIFA Ultimate Teams (FUT).

What's the story? 

The latest FIFA 23 deep dive trailer takes a look at the new features for FUT, which includes cross-play, FUT Moments, and an overhaul of the chemistry system among other upgrades. 

The release of the highly anticipated game is edging closer with a release on 30 September. 

Let's take a deep dive... 

FUT Moments

The EA Sports pitch notes on the websites detailed what gamers can expect from the new FUT feature. 

The single-player experience brings gamers a new way of enjoying FUT. 

"FUT Moments focuses on fun, short scenarios with a variety of challenges. In FUT Moments, you'll earn a new currency type, FUT Stars, which can be exchanged for Items and Packs in the Moments Star Gallery," it says on the pitch notes. 

The flexibility of FUT Moments allows players who don't have time to play full-length games to still enjoy FUT. 

With FUT Moments you select a Story and that's based on "Seasonal Themes, FUT Campaigns, or real events from football's past or present." 

Chemistry and cross-play

The chemistry system will be overhauled in FUT 23 and according to the pitch notes, it'll make it easier for gamers to build their ideal squad due to variety. 

Players can now link across the pitch regardless of their position with the removal of positional links. 

The loyalty system has also been removed with players earning 'Chemistry Points'. Players will be rated on a scale of 0-3 and that can be earned with Manager Bonus, Chemistry Threshold, and a Manager Bonus. 

Cross-play has been a hot topic for FIFA 23 and on FUT, cross-play will be available in 1v1 modes and it includes invite modes like Play a Friend. 

"In 1v1 matches in FUT, you'll be able to play against players on the same platform generation in FUT Rivals, FUT Friendlies, FUT Champions, Play a Friend, and FUT Online Draft, helping you get into your next match more easily," it says the pitch notes.
