Well-travelled attacker Waseem Isaacs is trying his luck with NB La Masia following his exit from Moroka Swallows, the Siya crew has been informed.
The 33-year-old was amongst a host of experienced players, including Mwape Musonda, Evans Rusike and Pentjie Zulu, who were shipped out by the Birds at the end of the 2022/23 season. Strangely, Isaacs was a regular during his time with the club, making 26 appearances in all competitions, with 17 of those as a starter.
Having turned out for nine clubs both locally and abroad, the burly striker could be closing in on his 10th club if he does manage to impress Daine Klate and his technical team.
Siya sources have informed Soccer Laduma that the forward is training with the Johannesburg-based club, in hopes of securing a contract. Indications are that the Motsepe Foundation Championship team is in need of an experienced marksman, which could play in Isaacs' favour.
"He last played at the end of last season and has been without a club since then. Now it's about checking his fitness before anything else – but there could be a short-term deal on the cards," a source said.
