Vuyo Mere Has Started Training With Bidvest Wits

His team may have been relegated into the National First Division, but Vuyo Mere doesn't seem to have any intention of leaving top-flight football and he's already been spotted at another club. Read: Lakay Agrees To Sundowns Move Mere, who turned 34 in March, is now training with Bidvest Wits ahead of the 2018/19 season, although at this point in time there has been no indications as to whether he's actually joining the Clever Boys or not. Despite being in the twilight of his career, Mere has played 25+ Absa Premiership games in all of his last six seasons for Platinum Stars and has missed just six matches from a possible 90 in the past three campaigns in the league. Wits have got numerous players training at the club without a contract at present as Gavin Hunt looks to get the club back on track, and Mere – with years of experience in the game – could be seen as an old hand that could possibly get them ticking again. Meanwhile, foreign strikers, Marcus Haber and Mathias Ranégie, are still training with the club as they look to try and earn a contract from Hunt and his technical team.
