With Kaizer Chiefs yet to confirm a new contract for Keagan Dolly, indications are that the player may not be short of options if he has to leave at the end of the season.
The club has been expected to open negotiations with the pint-sized attacker, whose deal at Naturena is set to expire in June. Still thinking about what happened in the case of Khama Billiat, who left the Glamour Boys under controversial circumstances during pre-season, the hierarchy wants to avoid leaving negotiating contracts with star players too late.
Dolly, has been a key player for Amakhosi since joining in 2021 on his return from French outfit Montpellier, although his spell has been injury-laden. The experienced star is understood to be happy at Chiefs and will be keen to extend his stay.
However, as in most deals in football, all the parties will have to be satisfied with the financial side of things before a transaction can take place. According to sources, SuperSport United is monitoring the situation with a view to pouncing if the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns man does become available at the end of the campaign!
"There's still no new contract for Dolly at Chiefs, although the club is keen to extend the deal. The player himself is happy at the club. SuperSport is interested in his services and the club is monitoring the situation," a source revealed.
