As reported by the Siya crew in edition 1387 Stellies pocketed over R14 million from Sundowns for their top striker.
These funds, the crew has been informed, will be used in their pursuit of Ashley Cupido from Cape Town Spurs, who has been identified as Rayners' replacement.
The Cape Winelands outfit have made an approach for Cupido in recent times; however, their initial offer fell below Spurs' evaluation of their top goalscorer.
However, Stellies who are set to begin their maiden CAF Confederation Cup journey, are expected to up the ante with regards to their chase of the player, although this time with a new and improved offer.

It is worth noting that Stellies do have a healthy contingent of attackers at their disposal, with the club well capable of calling on Anicet Oura, Bradley Mojela, Sanele Barns or Devin Titus; however, with the club competing on a number of fronts both domestically and on the continent, they look to add Cupido to their arsenal.
The two clubs are expected to return to the negotiation table, though it remains to be seen whether Stellies' latest offer would be enough to convince Spurs to part ways with their talisman.
